Audition Announcement for 2005-2006 Season

The Manhattan Choral Ensemble announces auditions for the 2005-2006 season, featuring: a concert of English music for Christmas, including works by Byrd, Tallis, and Warlock, and Britten’s Hymn to the Virgin; In the Beginning by Aaron Copland and The Peaceable Kingdom by Randall Thompson in March; and four newly commissioned works by New York-area composers as part of our New Music for New York commissioning project in June. The MCE is a growing choir looking for experienced singers of all voice parts to join a dynamic musical organization celebrating its sixth season.

Auditions will be on September 6th and September 13th from 6:30 to 10 PM at Church for All Nations, 417 West 57th Street. They will consist of sight-reading, vocal exercises, and an optional prepared piece. Auditioners will be expected to have prior choral experience and some sight-reading ability. Please write to Auditions@ManhattanChoralEnsemble.org with “Auditions” in the subject line for more information or to schedule an audition, and visit our website at www.ManhattanChoralEnsemble.org for more information about the choir. There will be an open rehearsal for interested singers on September 8th from 7:30 pm to 10pm at Church for All Nations.
